My name is Diana Froc and 2006 was the year that I entered the travel industry after the influence of my sister Jackie. In my previous life I worked in Human Resources, and lived in many places across North America with my husband and two sons; New York, Texas, and St. Croix being some of the highlights.
Our first family trip, a Christmas present to Disneyland, was my first memory of jet-setting. This was also the trip that sparked my keen interest in exploring much more of the world. My favorite way to travel has always been off the beaten path to truly experience local culture, learn new things, and see new and exciting sites. Each time I travel, I come home with fresh new eyes and a renewed appreciation of where we come from.
Some of my favorite memories of travels so far have been kayaking in the Norwegian Fjords, hiking in the Alps of Austria, snorkeling with dolphins off the beach in Kona, morning coffee on the upper deck of our B&B boat in the Boston Harbour, and cold beer in the pub on a rainy London day. Sharing these moments with family and friends is was makes them even more memorable.
If I had to pick a destination to construct an itinerary for clients, it would be Australia.
If I had one piece of advice to give to first time globetrotters it would be to plan and be prepared, but make sure you take the opportunity to seize the moment while you are there as you may not get the chance to do so again. As a travel agent, I love helping people get to where they want to go and to help them find interesting things to do in those places.
